About GRO Community:

God Restoring Order (GRO) Community is a mental healthcare provider that specializes in trauma recovery services for males of color ages 5 and up. GRO services are grounded in an understanding of the neurological, biological and psychological effects of trauma. GRO services include mental health and wellness, stress management, and community outreach.

Job Description:

Purpose of Position: The intake worker is the initial relationship interaction between GRO Community, the client and or client’s family. They are responsible for determining the clients’ need for service while providing exceptional customer service. As the intake worker, they will be responsible for speaking directly with the person and or their families to collect vital information via questionnaires: such as medical history, physical/mental state, special requirements and any other needs.

Essential Functions:

    • Speaking with individuals to get their personal (medical, mental, or legal) history and ascertaining their mental and physical state
    • Using the gathered information to guide them to the right service, department, or office
    • Obtaining emergency contact information
    • Coordinating schedules and appointments
    • Obtaining insurance or billing information
    • Processing paperwork
    • Ensuring forms have the proper signatures and that they’re filled out correctly.
    • Answering and taking note of incoming inquiries via phone, fax or email
    • Following up with clients and sharing vital information
    • Keeping all information confidential

    Work Environment: Onsite

    Location: Chicagoland Area

    Expected Hours of Work: Varies

    Travel: Must have access to reliable transportation to GRO Community and community sites

    Qualifications:

    Required Education:

      High School diploma/GED required.
      Experience:

      Minimum of 1 year in customer service or call center setting preferred.
      Knowledge of IL and or OH Medicaid, managed care plans, BCBS and UHC insurance plans desirable
      Social services industry experience preferred

      Qualifications:

      Required Education:

        • A high school diploma is required. This position requires a minimum of 2-3 years of workforce development experience with the reentry population. We highly encourage those with lived
        • experience to apply.
        • Reliable transportation with active car insurance required
        • Valid driver’s license required
