About GRO Community:
God Restoring Order (GRO) Community is a mental healthcare provider that specializes in trauma recovery services for males of color ages 5 and up. GRO services are grounded in an understanding of the neurological, biological and psychological effects of trauma. GRO services include mental health and wellness, stress management, and community outreach.
Job Description:
Purpose of Position: Therapeutic Mentors provide structured, one-on-one strength-based support to male clients at the ages of 5 and up. The Therapeutic Mentor provides advocacy to those in our black and brown communities, addressing their daily living, social and communication needs. They provide these services in any location where the client lives and in other community settings, such as school and other settings appropriate to meet the needs of the client.
Essential Functions:
- Engages the clients in the community support activities
- Engage with client’s support system such as school, deans, and counselors
- Teaching of alternative strategies, role-playing, behavioral rehearsal, skill acquisition in the community, practicing skills in the community, exposure to social situations in which age-appropriate skills can be practiced, enhancing conflict resolution skills, developing communication skills
- Offers services in the youth’s home, community and onsite at GRO offices
- Delivers services in accordance with an existing outpatient or In-home therapy treatment plan
- Submits summaries, progress notes, and discharge paperwork
- Ensures that appropriate referrals and service coordination takes place
- Attend monthly and weekly supervision

Location: Varies across Cincinnati and Dayton, OH

Travel: Must have access to reliable transportation to GRO Community and community sites
Qualifications:
Required Education:

Minimum of bachelor’s degree in social work, criminal justice, sociology, counseling, psychology, or any other human services related degree required.
