Meet Terry Gavin

Dec 20, 2023 | Representation

Terry Givan, a resilient individual, was born in Englewood and raised in the Robert Taylor homes. Throughout his life, Terry has faced numerous challenges, having been incarcerated an astonishing 13 times. However, a few months ago, he was released and placed under house arrest, marking a turning point in his life.

Upon his release, Terry found himself without financial resources, employment, and opportunities. In the face of adversity, he had a moment of reflection and realized that his repeated incarcerations were not only detrimental to himself but also to his family. Determined to break the cycle, Terry sought a fresh start.

That’s when he discovered the Gro Community, a transformative program that empowers individuals to make better decisions and take responsibility for their actions. With the support of this community, Terry embarked on a journey towards personal growth and self-improvement. He expressed his joy in being back home, on a new and promising path in life.

Today, Terry looks forward to becoming a leader within his community and is committed to making positive changes. He cherishes the trust that people are now placing in him, a testament to his transformation and newfound determination.

Terry Givan’s story serves as an inspiration to all, reminding us that it’s never too late to turn our lives around and make a positive impact. Let’s support Terry and others like him as they strive to create a brighter future for themselves and their communities.
