Medicaid-Covered. Trauma-Informed. Fully Virtual.

  • Mental health challenges are real and sometimes therapy alone isn’t enough. Psychiatric care can provide support for symptoms like anxiety, depression, anger, and difficulty sleeping. We offer services through virtual appointments, with board certified psychiatrist providers who understand the unique experiences of Black and Brown communities.

What is Psychiatric Services?

Psychiatric care supports your mental health through evaluation, medication, and follow-up. It’s
a way to understand what you’re going through and explore whether medication might help. Our care includes:

Virtual – Access care your phone, tablet, or computer. No travel. Just support when you need it

Culturally aware – Providers who understand the experiences of Black and Brown people

Medicaid-covered – No cost if you’re enrolled in Illinois or Ohio Medicaid

 

What We Offer

  • Our psychiatric services are available for adults and children aged 7 and older. All services are provided virtually.
  • ^Psychiatric Evaluations
  • One-on-one sessions with a board certified psychiatrist to understand what’s going on and determine if medication might help.
  • ^Medication Management
  • Ongoing check-ins to see how you’re doing, adjust medication if needed, and support your healing over time.
  • ^Integrated Care
  • Your provider can coordinate directly with your therapist, reentry support team, or primary care doctor.
  • ^Culturally Competent, Trauma-Informed Approach
  • Care is designed with respect for the real-life experiences of Black and Brown individuals and families.

Who Can Get Services

  • Psychiatric care is available for:
  • ^Children and teens ages 7–17
  • ^Adults and young adults
  • ^Individuals affected by trauma, stress, or systemic barriers
  • ^Individuals returning from incarceration
  • ^Current GRO therapy clients who may benefit from medication
  • ^Anyone with Illinois or Ohio Medicaid who needs support

Insurance and Cost

Psychiatric services may be covered by Illinois or Ohio Medicaid. If you have Medicaid, there may be no out-of-pocket cost for you. Our intake team can help verify your coverage.

What to Expect

  • ^Step 1: Evaluation
  • Adults meet with a psychiatric provider for a 60-minute evaluation. Youth have two 45-minute appointments, one week apart.
  • ^Step 2: Consents and Coordination
  • You (or your guardian) will sign electronic consent forms through DocuSign. A release may also be needed to contact other providers.
  • ^Step 3: Virtual Appointment
  • Appointments take place on Zoom with your provider and therapist or case manager present.
  • ^Step 4: Follow-Up
  • If medication is recommended, follow-up appointments are 30 minutes long and scheduled every few weeks.
